As part of the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange program, we coordinated Earth and You(th), a youth exchange that brought together 32 young participants from Portugal, Greece, Ukraine, Italy, and Hungary.

Through workshops and collaborative learning sessions, participants explored some of today's most pressing environmental and social challenges. Working across national backgrounds and perspectives, they identified key problem areas and developed a set of concrete, youth-driven policy recommendations addressed to policymakers and decision-makers.

The participants collectively developed a Youth Policy Proposal covering six areas:

Support for local and sustainable farming, reduction of food waste, ecological packaging, and alternative protein sources.

Agriculture and food systems

Finance and sustainable investment

Public funding for green research, tax incentives for circular economy practices, and investment in sustainable infrastructure.

Sustainable mobility and transport

Affordable public transport, cycling infrastructure, unified ticketing systems, and carpooling incentives.

Integration of sustainability into school curricula, outdoor education, and community campaigns promoting eco-friendly habits.

Education and awareness

The full policy proposal produced during the exchange is available to read below. It was submitted as the collective voice of the 32 participants to the relevant stakeholders and decision-makers.
