Scientific Literacy as a Catalyst for Change Erasmus+ Cooperation Partnership

We are pleased to announce that we are partners in the Erasmus+ KA220 cooperation partnership project titled “Scientific Literacy as a Catalyst for Change,” an exciting three-year European initiative (from 1 October 2025 to 31 May 2028) designed to help young people understand the world through science, challenge misinformation, and use science as a tool for defending human rights.

Living in a time where fake news spreads faster than facts, this project aims to equip young people aged 18–30, as well as the youth workers who support them, with the skills to think critically, analyse information, and become confident voices for science and human rights. Along with partner organisations from six countries – Secular-Humanist Association from Romania, CICAP from Italy, Mythodologie from France, Zavod Boter from Slovenia, and the European Center for Innovation, Education, Science and Culture from Bulgaria – we will contribute to developing an interactive e-learning platform and a self-directed online course that will reach hundreds of young people and youth workers across Europe.

During the project, we will take part in organising ideation labs and virtual workshops, develop youth policy recommendations, and support youth-led local awareness campaigns where young participants will turn their ideas into real actions within their communities. We will also contribute to the development of practical resources: a youth advocacy toolkit, a booklet for youth workers, multilingual learning materials, and a position paper shaped directly by the ideas of young participants. Our role as a partner will also involve engaging with motivated youth from our community in the project, contributing to educational content, supporting young people during national activities, and disseminating the project's achievements both offline and online.

By the end of this journey, the project will unite a network of young advocates for science and human rights, ready to fight scientific disinformation, inspire others, and spark meaningful change. For anyone passionate about science-based facts, activism, or simply shaping a better future, this project is a chance to learn, create, and influence the world in a powerful way. We are excited to be part of this.

We have already held a kick-off meeting with the project partners in Bucharest in October 2025, where two of our board members, Bence and Gary, represented SOYA. Follow us for many exciting updates about this project throughout 2026 and 2027!

This project has been co-funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme.
