As part of the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange programme, we organized Unleash Your Creative Voice through the Media. A project that recognizes media literacy and digital storytelling as powerful tools for youth empowerment and active citizenship.

Through non-formal workshops, news simulations, field reporting, and collaborative media creation, participants addressed challenges surrounding information overload, pervasive misinformation, and critical digital skills.

The participants explored eight core topics:

Media Literacy

Deepening comprehension of media literacy and digital storytelling vocabulary through dynamic, game-based communication.

News Literacy

Analyzing sensationalism, conducting investigative fact-checking, and managing simulated press conferences to debate journalistic ethics.

Narrative Skills

Mastering core narrative structures, emotional hooks, and collaborative creative writing while adapting to unexpected plot constraints.

Active Inquiry

Distinguishing constructive questioning techniques from biased phrasing and maintaining composure during high-intensity press hot-seat interviews.

Media Framing & Ethics

Deconstructing linguistic bias, tracking narrative distortion during news transmission, and critically debating media ethics in fishbowl discussions.

Media Production

Mastering TV concept development, audience segmentation, and rapid creative adaptation during high-stakes commercial pitch simulations.

Field Journalism

Developing mobile journalism techniques, ethical street interview practices, and multimedia video editing while capturing local public perspectives.

Interactive Discovery

Sharpening critical problem-solving, bias detection, and collaborative teamwork through experiential station-based media challenges.

Through the exchange, participants transitioned from passive media consumers to proactive, responsible content creators equipped with practical journalism, fact-checking, and storytelling competencies to advocate for positive change in their communities.
